Marigot

In partnership with Providence Haiti Outreach, LifeGivingForce deployed an LGF RAPID RESPONSE 10,000UF system to directly support a school of over 350 children in Marigot, Haiti. Although it is located on the south coast, Marigot still felt the effects of the Jan 12th earthquake. The local water supply in Marigot was severely corrupted and the population had to rely on bottled water. Till very recently, approx. 20% of the children at the school suffered from dysentery and were not attending school due to drinking from an unsafe water source after the Jan 12th earthquake. The LGF RAPID RESPONSE 10,000UF system was installed at the end of April and is now providing clean water for all the children of the school. This has resulted in now healthy children being able to attend classes on a regular basis. Special thanks to Providence Haiti Outreach for their continued love and support of the St. Dominque school in Marigot.

Mary from Marigot

This is Mary. Mary lives in a small town called Marigot in Haiti. She is a pupil at the local St. Dominique school. It is not uncommon for Mary or her fellow to miss school due to illness. A large percentage of the children in this community have experienced bouts of sickness due to drinking contaminated water from the local town well. This has ultimately meant that they were often not well enough to attend school on a regular basis. The situation has improved recently, however, as many of the children are now returning to school after Father Luke, a local Pastor was given a water purification unit capable of providing clean water for all the kids at the school. Father Luke currently uses the system to purify unsafe drinking water and supply the school with fresh, clean water for all the children. As we all know, healthy kids equate to increased attendance at school. Thanks to Father Luke, Providence Haiti Outreach and LifeGivingForce, Mary can also now attend school regularly.
